Our most recommended Kilimanjaro climb: 8 days on the Lemosho Route with the best acclimatization, spectacular views, and a high summit success rate.
About this tour
Mount Kilimanjaro Trek via Lemosho Route (8 Days)
The 8-day Lemosho Route is often recommended as the best all-round way to climb Kilimanjaro. The slow, gradual itinerary gives you extra time at altitude, which greatly improves your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m.
You start in the quiet rainforest on the western side, cross the open Shira Plateau, and continue past the Lava Tower and the Barranco Wall before the summit push. The scenery changes constantly, from forest and moorland to alpine desert and glaciers.
Highlights
- Best acclimatization profile of the main routes
- Spectacular views across the Shira Plateau and Barranco Wall
- Quiet western start with fewer crowds
- Experienced local guides and a full support crew
